Congressman Canseco’s Statement on June Jobs ReportTexas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Francisco “Quico” Canseco, a former small businessman and a member of the House Financial Services Committee, released the following statement in reaction to today’s jobs report released by the Department of Labor for the month of June:
“Today’s report that the economy only created 18,000 jobs and that the unemployment rate rose yet again, to 9.2%, is a clear indicator that the policies of attempting to spend and tax our way to economic prosperity pursued by President Obama and Washington liberals have not worked. Instead of stimulating the economy and creating jobs, President Obama’s policies have merely stimulated our national debt to an astounding $14.3 trillion, or $121,662 per American household. More debt means more uncertainty, and more uncertainty means fewer jobs,” said Congressman Canseco.
