Congressman Canseco's Statement on Tragic Loss of Soldiers in Afghanistan

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Francisco “Quico” Canseco, a small businessman and lifelong Texan, released the following statement after the tragic news that 31 Americans were killed, including 25 SEALs, in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan:

"Last night, the United States suffered one of the worst single-day losses of life since the war began in Afghanistan. Troops were reportedly participating in a raid against insurgents in the area, when their helicopter went down. Today we mourn the death of these brave members of our armed forces. We are reminded not only of their extraordinary courage and bravery, but also of the ongoing threat facing freedom around the world,” said Congressman Canseco.

"My thoughts and prayers are with the families of these soldiers, they have made the ultimate sacrifice,” concluded Congressman Canseco.
