Congressman Canseco Receives Award for Commitment to Texas' Seniors

San Antonio, TX – Congressman Francisco “Quico” Canseco (TX-23), a staunch advocate of saving Medicare and Social Security, was honored to receive the 2012 Standing Up for America’s Seniors award from the national, nonpartisan grassroots organization RetireSafe on Wednesday.
 
“It is truly an honor to receive this recognition from RetireSafe. During my time in Congress, I have worked hard to make sure our seniors receive the care and support they need. Whether voting for legislation that would save Medicare and Social Security, or assisting seniors having problems with federal agencies, I am working to ensure our seniors have a strong voice in Washington and a true representative in me.”  
 
Criteria for the 2012 Standing Up for America’s Seniors award includes exhibiting outstanding leadership in Congress to protect Medicare, ensuring access to affordable prescription medicines and preserving health care choices, among other criterion. RetireSafe is national, nonprofit, nonpartisan grassroots organization that advocates and educates on behalf of America's seniors on issues regarding Social Security, Medicare, health and financial well-being.
