Congressman Canseco Announces 2012 Congressional Art Competition

Washington, DC – Congressman Francisco “Quico” Canseco (TX-23), who proudly represents the 23rd District of Texas, announced the start of the 2012 Congressional Art Competition. The Congressional Art Competition is open to high school students who reside in the 23rd District or who attend a school district that is in the 23rd District. The winning entry will be displayed in the Capitol in Washington D.C. for one year:
“The Congressional Art Competition is a very unique opportunity for talented high school students to submit their original artwork. One lucky winner will have their art work displayed in our Nation’s Capitol to be seen by thousands of people and will be flown to Washington DC for a special reception with winners from across the country. I look forward to your submissions, as I know there are many talented student-artists in the 23rd District of Texas,” said Congressman Canseco.
The deadline to submit entries is April 20, 2012. Local high schools have been provided information regarding the competition.
